Sudanese Armed Forces Liberate Kulbus, Advance Toward El Geneina
The Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF), backed by the Joint Force of the Armed Struggle Movements and the Popular Resistance, have regained full control of the town and locality of Kulbus in West Darfur State following decisive military operations against the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia.
The announcement was made simultaneously by the Wali of West Darfur State, General Bahr-Eddin Adam Karama, and the spokesperson for the Joint Force of the Armed Struggle Movements, Major Mutawakil Abuja. Kulbus lies approximately 160 kilometres northeast of El Geneina.
In an official statement, General Karama described the recapture of Kulbus as a pivotal milestone in the ongoing military campaign and a clear indication of the state’s determination to restore its sovereignty and re-establish security and stability. He stated that government forces would use Kulbus as a strategic launching point to expand military operations aimed at liberating the entirety of West Darfur State and the remaining parts of the country.
For his part, Major Mutawakil Abuja said the victory builds on a series of battlefield gains achieved in recent days. He affirmed that the Joint Force and the Sudanese Armed Forces inflicted heavy losses on the RSF militia in both personnel and equipment, adding that military units are continuing to pursue retreating elements while securing the town and its surrounding areas to consolidate state authority across the national territory.
In a related development, the Joint Force urged residents of towns and villages near the operational theatre to exercise the utmost caution and refrain from approaching combat zones or unexploded military ordnance in order to safeguard their lives and safety.
