Sudanair Close to Acquiring Up to 11 Aircraft Through External Financing
Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Saif Al-Nasr Al-Tijani revealed that losses in Sudan’s transport sector — including air, land, and maritime transport — reached nearly $2 billion following the war, noting that the government is working to address the major gap caused by the crisis.
In an interview with Al-Moujaz Al-Sudani on Wednesday, the minister said the government had received pledges from what he described as “brotherly” countries to help finance the purchase of between eight and 11 new aircraft for Sudan Airways (Sudanair), with the aim of building a national fleet capable of serving destinations in the Middle East and Europe.
