Sudan submits new evidence to the Security Council on the UAE’s involvement in supporting the outlaw RSF militia

Sudan supported the complaint it submitted to the United Nations Security Council last March against the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and what subsequented, with a letter dated October 11, 2024, to the Council, which included new details about the UAE’s ongoing aggression against Sudan and its people by the insurgent terrorist Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia.
The letter of the Permanent Representative of Sudan to United Nations, in New York, to the President of the Security Council explained that the UAE is delivering therapy to RSF militia fighters who were injured in the battles at Zayid Military Hospital in Abu Dhabi, and attached photos of a number of them receiving treatment at that hospital.
The letter also included details and pictures of heavy artillery ammunition boxes bearing the name of the UAE that the armed forces seized after the battles of Jebel Moya, in addition to trucks transporting weapons and ammunition to the militia, bearing Dubai license numbers and cards, as well as newly manufactured Emirati medicines and medical supplies that were in the possession of the militia, stating that these seizures are in the possession of the armed forces and can be subject to examination by UN experts.
The letter pointed out that there are reliable reports that the UAE is actively recruiting mercenaries in a number of countries to fight alongside the RSF militia in Sudan, which is the method followed by the UAE in its military interventions in a number of countries. This is in addition to the financial, logistical and diplomatic assistance it provides to the militia.
It explained that the UAE, with this behavior, is no longer an indirect supporter of the militia, but rather a key partner on the front line of the war of aggression against Sudan and its armed forces.
The letter said that this makes it a rogue state that defies international law and the United Nations system and seeks to destabilize other countries. It added that the UAE is adopting a settlement project in Sudan based on the ethnic supremacy of certain groups, which threatens coexistence and stability in the region.
The letter called on the Security Council to take a firm and clear position on the UAE’s ongoing aggressive activities against Sudan and its standing behind the brutal atrocities that civilians are exposed to, by condemning the UAE’s behavior in the strongest terms and holding it fully responsible under international law for its aggression against Sudan.
