Sudan Files Complaint with UN Security Council Against Ukraine over ‎Training RSF Militia

Sudanese Foreign Minister Mohieddin Salem said Sudan possesses ‎conclusive material evidence that Ukrainian snipers and trainers are ‎providing direct support to the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia ‎fighting the Sudanese Armed Forces.‎

In remarks to Sputnik Africa, Salem added that Ukrainians are training ‎the militia to operate drones used to target civilian facilities.‎

He explained that some Ukrainian fighters had been captured or killed, ‎and that Sudanese authorities had seized weapons linked to them.‎

He noted that Sudan had officially documented these activities in the ‎records of the United Nations Security Council through its Permanent ‎Representative in New York.‎

Salem said that, during a visit to Washington last year, a Sudanese ‎delegation presented the United States with evidence confirming the ‎use of American weapons that had leaked from Ukraine and other ‎areas.‎

He warned that the continuation of the conflict poses a serious threat ‎to regional and international security, calling on the international ‎community to support Sudan’s legitimate national institutions, ‎including the army, in order to prevent the threat from spreading.‎

He said the negative repercussions of the war were already becoming ‎apparent in neighbouring countries as weapons had fallen into the ‎hands of undisciplined groups.‎

The Foreign Minister added that these armed groups were worsening ‎the economic crisis through the smuggling of drugs, fuel and food ‎commodities, driving up prices and further deteriorating living ‎conditions.‎
