Sudan Enters Global Defense Industries Arena

 

The International Defense Industries Fair (IDEF) 2025 kicked off in Istanbul, Turkey, with active official participation from Sudan, represented by the Sudanese Defense Industries System (SDIS), in the second consecutive year that Sudan is participating in this major global event, held during July 22-27.

 

 

IDEF is one of the largest defense exhibitions in the world, organized under the supervision of the Turkish Ministry of Defense. More than 1,400 companies from over 50 countries are participating, showcasing the latest defense technology in the fields of ground, sea, and air defense, armored vehicles, drones, radar systems, and military artificial intelligence.

 

 

The current edition of the exhibition received significant official support.

 

IDEF was inaugurated by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, in the presence of Sudanese Defense Minister Lt. Gen. Hassan Daoud Kabron, and Director General of the Defense Industries System General Mirghani Idris Suleiman, along with a number of defense and security ministers and international military commanders from more than 50 countries.

 

 

Major countries such as the United States, France, China, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, and others are participating in the exhibition, placing Sudan on the map of countries producing and developing defense industries, and giving it a foothold among the military manufacturing giants.
