Sudan Embassy in Ireland denies reports on Asylum Applications by its Diplomats
The Sudanese Embassy in Ireland has denied reports that a number of Sudanese diplomats at the embassy had submitted asylum applications in Ireland.
In a statement received by (Sudanese Echoes), the embassy confirmed the inaccuracy of the news, describing it as false and baseless allegations.
The embassy stated that the mission members are committed to all their official duties and to representing Sudan in accordance with diplomatic rules and norms.
It added that the Sudanese Embassy in Dublin is operating with its full diplomatic and administrative staff.
The embassy statement revealed that Ambassadors Adil Banaga and Omar Ork, whose names were mentioned in the false report, have completed their terms at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs after reaching retirement age in 2022 and 2023.
The statement clarified that the former Chargé d’Affaires, Mohammed Musa, has completed his term at the embassy and is preparing to return to his work as part of the diplomatic staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Sudan.
