Security Talks Between Sudanese and Ethiopian Intelligence Chiefs

 

The Director of the Ethiopian Intelligence Service, Radwan Hussein, paid an official visit to Portsudan and held talks with the Director of the Sudanese General Intelligence Service, General Ahmed Ibrahim Mufaddal.

 

The talks touched on ways to enhance security cooperation between the two countries and exchange information and expertise to serve mutual interests. During the meeting, Radwan conveyed a message from Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed to President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), General Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan, which addressed the importance of supporting Sudan in its efforts to restore peace and stability amidst current challenges.

 

 

Following the meeting, Radwan affirmed Ethiopia’s firm commitment to supporting Sudan in overcoming its crises, noting his country’s readiness to share its expertise and experience in peacebuilding and diversity management, to enhance Sudan’s stability and preserve its national unity. The meeting was also attended by Getachew Reda, the former governor of the Tigray region, who was appointed Advisor to the Ethiopian Prime Minister for African Affairs. He was traveling on his first foreign visit as part of the delegation that landed in Sudan. The Ethiopian News Agency (ENA) reported that the Ethiopian delegation affirmed its country’s continued commitment to supporting Sudan’s efforts to achieve peace and national stability
