Secret Prison Network Reported in Jebel Marra Linked to Abdul Wahid Movement
Reports emerging from the Jebel Marra area indicate the widespread existence of an unregistered detention network run by armed movements and militias, amid what sources describe as catastrophic humanitarian conditions and a complete absence of accountability and justice.
According to multiple sources and defectors from the Sudan Liberation Movement (Abdul Wahid Mohamed Nour faction), cited by Darfur24, the movement operates secret detention facilities in several locations, including Gorlang Bang, Daya, Fina, and Golo, extending to command detention sites in “Toring Tonga.”
The sources said that civilians—including dozens of women—are being held in dark and overcrowded rooms on fabricated charges such as collaboration with the army or personal disputes, without access to lawyers or judicial authorities.
Detainees are suffering from systematic deprivation of food, water, and medical care, leading to the spread of disease.
The reports further indicate that other armed factions operating in Rokuro have also established their own detention centers, including forces linked to “Al-Sadig Al-Fakah,” as well as splinter groups led by “Mubarak Waldock,” “Salah Hadeed,” and “Kagramola,” turning the area into what sources describe as a hotspot for human rights violations.
