Saudi Arabia, United States: Ending Sudan War a Shared Priority
Massad Boulos, Senior Adviser to the US President for African Affairs, said his meetings with senior officials in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia were “productive and highly significant,” focusing on strengthening bilateral relations between Washington and Riyadh and advancing joint efforts to promote peace and stability in the region.
Boulos said he held high-level meetings with Khalid bin Salman, Saudi Minister of Defense; Faisal bin Farhan, Minister of Foreign Affairs; Musaed bin Mohammed Al-Aiban, Minister of State and National Security Adviser; Walid Al-Khuraiji, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs; and Musab bin Mohammed Al-Farhan, Political Affairs Adviser.
He noted that the discussions addressed ways to deepen US-Saudi cooperation to enhance regional security, underscoring that ending the war in Sudan represents a shared priority, through intensified bilateral efforts and coordination within the Quadrilateral mechanism.
Boulos added that both sides agreed to take practical steps aimed at reaching a humanitarian truce, achieving sustainable stability, and expanding humanitarian assistance while ensuring unimpeded access to aid for the Sudanese people.
