SAF liberates (Al-Getainah and Al-Kurgol), breaks the siege of (Al-Obied)

The Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) announced, on Sunday, its control over the cities of Al-Getainah and Al-Kurgol and breaking the siege of Al-Obied.

The SAF spokesman, Brig. Gen. Nabil Abdullah, said that SAF succeeded in lifting the siege on the city of Al-Obied, the capital of North Kordofan State, after the forces coming from the city of Rahad met with the Fifth Infantry Division in the city.

Brig. Gen. Nabil Abdullah explained that the forces in the White Nile were able to cleanse the city of Al-Getainah and destroy the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia.

Reports stated that celebrations were held in the city of Al-Obied, the capital of North Kordofan State, after the Sudanese army announced breaking the siege of the city.

SAF regained control of the city of Al-Getainah after fierce battles against the RSF militia.
It is to be recalled that the militia had taken control of the city in November 2023.
