Russia: Ukrainians Train Local Terrorist Groups Against the Sudanese Government

Russia said it has identified Ukrainian drone instructors in the Sahel and Central Africa.

TASS quoted Alexander Ivanov, Director r of the International Security Officers Union, as saying, “In these countries, Ukrainian instructors are closely cooperating with local terrorist groups—referring to the Rapid Support Forces (RSF)—and supplying them with drones.”

Russia announced it has identified Ukrainian drone instructors operating in Mali, Sudan, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the Central African Republic, and Chad.

“They are coordinating terrorist attacks against government forces,” according to Alexander Ivanov, in a statement to TASS, the state-run Russian news agency.

According to media reports, citing Alexander Ivanov, “The confirmed presence of Ukrainian drone instructors has been detected in Mali, Sudan, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the Central African Republic, and Chad.”

He continued, “In these countries, Ukrainian trainers cooperate closely with local terrorist groups, supplying them with drones—including Mavic 3s equipped with Ukrainian-made launch systems—and providing them with training. In addition, they coordinate these militants’ attacks against government forces and allied forces.”

The same source added that, according to independent experts, Ukraine also supplies equipment to Burkina Faso, Somalia, and Libya.

Ivanov said, “Ukraine has even supplied the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) with a batch of drones directly with the aim of destabilizing the region and igniting a new conflict between the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Rwanda,” claiming that “the army is planning to launch an attack on the Democratic Republic of the Congo from Ugandan-controlled territory to blame the Ugandan army.”

He added: “On August 20, Russia’s First Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Dmitry Polyansky, stated during a speech before the UN Security Council that specific facts clearly indicate the involvement of Ukrainian intelligence services, including the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense, in subversive activities in the Sahel countries and other regions of Africa, particularly the Maghreb.”
