Russia expresses interest in founding a strategic relationship with Sudan

The Russian Federation has expressed its desire to establish strategic relations with the Republic of Sudan, and Finance Minister Gebreil Ibrahim welcomed the development of relations with Russia into strategic cooperation relations.

 

The Minister of Finance, during his meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to Sudan Andrei Chernovol at the Ministry premises, confirmed the Sudanese government’s readiness to establish strategic cooperation relations in the economic field, expressing its readiness to pay Russia’s dues to Sudan if the Russian Ministry of Finance determines the payment mechanism.

 

For his part, the Russian ambassador revealed official arrangements for the visit of three delegations of businessmen from the Russian Chamber of Commerce to Sudan during the coming period, in addition to coordination with the concerned Russian government bodies to sign agreements with the Sudanese side in the fields of energy, ports and electricity, stressing the Russian side’s interest in investing in the fields of infrastructure, urging setting a map of Sudan’s priorities that takes into account the balance of developing the targeted areas.
