RSF Shells Chadian Town with Artillery Amid Cross-Border Incursions

The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) have continued their cross-border incursions into Chadian territory, carrying out fresh attacks on towns along the frontier, according to field sources.

The Sources reported that the RSF launched intensive artillery shelling targeting residential homes and the local police station in the Chadian town of Tiné.

The militia has reportedly clashed with the Chadian army on more than one occasion in recent days, killing a number of Chadian soldiers in two separate incidents. In response to the escalating tensions, the Chadian government closed the border on Monday.

In a related development, three corroborating sources from Tiné confirmed that local authorities have suspended classes for three days in the town, which is located in the Wadi Fira region in northeastern Chad.

Authorities stated that the decision forms part of precautionary measures aimed at safeguarding students and educational staff pending clarification of the security situation and the restoration of stability, according to the official announcement.
