RSF militia Hands Over Millions of Dollars to Militias to Open Mercenary Recruitment Camps in Darfur
The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) handed over $3 million to the militias of Al-Tahir Hajar, Al-Hadi Idris, and Suleiman Sandal to open training camps for mercenaries.
At the same time, the militia handed over $3 million to Al-Tahir Hajar’s movement as compensation for the Rapid Support Forces’ killing of the movement’s soldiers in previous battles in Darfur.
Sources revealed that Hajar seized the funds and invested them in a failed investment, which sparked sharp disagreements within the movement. Commanders within the movement accused its leader, Al-Tahir Hajar, of corruption and threatened to defect from him if he did not return the funds.
