RSF Disarms “Al-Safana” Forces Over Fears of Defection
The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia has ordered “Al-Safana” forces to hand over their weapons and military vehicles, in a move described as stemming from fears of possible defections and attempts to join the Sudanese Armed Forces, similar to a previous case involving Major General Al-Nour Al-Goba.
The decision reflects growing concern within the militia over the possibility of repeated defections, particularly after the defection of Al-Nour Al-Goba and his forces to the Sudanese Army, which was seen as a significant shift in the battlefield balance.
The measures are viewed as a pre-emptive attempt to contain any similar movements that could weaken the militia’s cohesion and further deepen internal divisions within its ranks.
