Renewing its support for Sudan’s stability, Arab League stresses implementing Jeddah Declaration

The Arab League renewed today, Friday, its support for Sudan’s stability and the preservation of its sovereignty.

A responsible source in the General Secretariat of the Arab League stated that “the League is following with great concern the reports related to the indiscriminate bombing of the Zamzam camp for displaced persons (IDPs) in North Darfur State in Sudan, resulting in deaths and injuries of civilians, which represents a clear violation of international humanitarian law.”

The source stressed “the League’s keenness to implement the obligations of the Jeddah Declaration signed on May 11, 2024, and what it included of a commitment to protect civilians and the necessity of reaching a ceasefire,” reiterating the League’s firm position in supporting Sudan’s stability and preserving its unity, sovereignty and independence.
