Popular anger and outrage over UAE statement on Zamzam and Abu Shouk attacks

The United Arab Emirates’ (UAE) condemnation of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia’s attacks on the Zamzam and Abu Shouk displacement camps (IDPs) has sparked widespread public anger against the UAE among Sudanese citizens and activists, who denounced the UAE’s condemnation and considered it an attempt to throw dust in the eyes, while aid shipments continue to flow to the militia, which is committing daily murder, looting, and abuses against defenseless civilians in Darfur and across large areas of Sudan. Sudanese citizens accused the UAE of attempting to evade and disavow crimes committed with its direct or indirect support.
The UAE Foreign Ministry condemned the attacks on the Zamzam and Abu Shouk camps in a statement, describing them as a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law, according to the statement.
The statement called for adherence to the Jeddah Declaration.
The UAE is the primary party implicated in the bloodshed of Sudanese people during the war, providing the militia with logistical, political, media, and financial support.
