Mysterious Security Summit in Juba Led by Hemedti, Museveni and Al-Hilu
Informed sources revealed that a high-level and controversial military and intelligence meeting was held in South Sudan’s capital, Juba, led by Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia commander Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo (“Hemedti”), with broad regional participation that included leaders of neighbouring countries, armed movements, and intelligence agencies.
The closed-door meeting was attended by Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni, Sudan People’s Liberation Movement–North (SPLM-N) leader Abdelaziz Al-Hilu, as well as senior executive officials and prominent security and intelligence leaders from Chad and Ethiopia.
According to press reports cited by Brown Land, the discussions focused primarily on two critical military and organisational issues: planning coordinated offensive military operations aimed at seizing the strategic city of El Obeid, the capital of North Kordofan State, which serves as a vital hub for controlling central and western Sudan; and making security arrangements to secure the militia’s logistical corridors and military supply lines as it faces mounting pressure across multiple battlefronts.
The summit also discussed internal rifts and the escalating divisions affecting Al-Hilu’s movement in areas under its control in South Kordofan.
These rapid military and diplomatic developments came two days after the militia commander arrived in Juba.
According to Al-Onwan 24 television, Hemedti underwent extensive emergency medical examinations immediately upon his arrival in Juba following a traffic accident involving his military convoy in Nyala, the capital of South Darfur State, before travelling to Kenya and South Sudan.
