Museveni to Al-Burhan: We Reject the “Janjaweed Government” Linked to Hemedti

 

The President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, reaffirmed Sudan’s commitment to strengthening and developing its relations with the Republic of Uganda in a manner that serves the mutual interests of the two countries.

This was said when he received Uganda’s External Intelligence Director and Presidential Envoy, Ambassador Joseph Ocwet, in the presence of the Director General of the General Intelligence Service, General Ahmed Ibrahim Mufaddal.

The Ugandan envoy conveyed greetings from President Yoweri Museveni to the TSC President, affirming his country’s interest in supporting efforts to achieve peace and stability in Sudan.

For his part, Ambassador Joseph Ocwet reiterated Uganda’s rejection of the establishment of any parallel authorities in Sudan, stressing his country’s support for Sudan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, and its commitment to Sudan’s security and stability in a way that enhances peace in the region.
