Minnawi Movement: Forces Ready to Advance Toward El-Fashir and Darfur Cities
The Chief of Staff of the Sudan Liberation Army (SLA) faction led by Minni Arko Minnawi, Major General Faisal Salih Zakaria Maala, said the movement’s forces have reached full combat readiness to advance toward El-Fashir and other cities in Darfur, in line with current operational requirements.
Addressing troops on Monday, in the presence of senior commanders including Major General Amir Adam Ajab-Al-Door, Deputy Chief of Staff and commander of the El-Fashir force, and Major General Abdelrahman Abdallah Bashar, Maala said the “Heroes of El-Fashir” force has reached a high level of combat preparedness and is awaiting orders to deploy.
He added that troop morale remains high along the Kordofan and western axes, with forces ready to engage in upcoming battles.
Maala stressed that the violations reported in El-Fashir and other parts of Darfur require urgent action through enhanced coordination among the Sudanese Armed Forces, joint forces, and supporting units to decisively conclude the battle and restore full control over Sudanese territory.
He said the joint forces would remain a “safety valve” for the country, while maintaining heightened combat readiness within ongoing operations.
He described the battle for El-Fashir as a decisive turning point in the conflict, saying its recapture would significantly improve the security situation across Darfur. He added that the sacrifices of fallen fighters remain a lasting legacy and commitment for future generations in defending the homeland.
