Major security lapses in southern Khartoum, 40 killed and injured by live bullets

Activists said on Monday that at least 13 people were killed and others injured during the past week due to widespread security lapses committed by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia in southern Khartoum neighborhoods, while a spokesman for the East Nile Emergency Chamber warned of the worsening hunger crisis.

The militia controls many areas in the south of the belt, which includes the neighborhoods of “Mayo, Al-Engaz, Al-Azhari, and Al-Salama.”

The South Belt Emergency Chamber said, in a statement, that the neighborhoods of Mayo and Ed-Hussein are witnessing unprecedented security lapses that resulted in the killing of 13 people and the injury of more than 27 others with live bullets during the past week.
