Large RSF Force Surrenders to Sudanese Army in El-Obeid

A large Rapid Support Forces (RSF) unit surrendered with its full complement of weapons and equipment to the Sudanese Army’s 5th Infantry Division (Hajana) in El-Obeid, North Kordofan State, on Sunday.

According to the Dar Hamar Emergency news platform, the surrender followed rapid battlefield developments in the area over the past several hours.

Military sources attributed the mass surrender to sustained battlefield pressure and continued air and ground operations by the Sudanese Armed Forces, which they said have led to successive setbacks and a significant decline in morale among RSF fighters across several strategic fronts surrounding the state capital.

The development comes as the army says it has also repelled several RSF offensives targeting El-Obeid, further tightening pressure on the group’s positions across Kordofan.
