Joint Confirmation Between El-Sisi and Afwerki Regarding Sudan
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and Eritrean President Isaias Afwerki discussed the latest developments in brotherly Sudan. President El-Sisi reaffirmed Egypt’s steadfast position supporting the unity, sovereignty, security, and stability of Sudan, with both leaders emphasizing the necessity of ending the current crisis and supporting Sudan in restoring comprehensive stability.
The official spokesperson for the Egyptian Presidency, Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy, stated that the meeting also covered regional and international developments, where the two presidents reviewed the current situation in the Horn of Africa.
El-Sisi underscored Egypt’s firm stance aimed at maintaining peace and security in the Horn of Africa, considering it an extension of Egyptian national security. He highlighted the central importance of coordination between Egypt and Eritrea to preserve the region’s stability.
For his part, the Eritrean President expressed appreciation for Egypt’s efforts to maintain peace and stability in the Horn of Africa and achieve comprehensive development for its nations, stressing the importance of bilateral coordination between the two countries to uphold the pillars of peace and security in the region.
