Jaafar Al-Mirghani: Sudan Will Not Die, Khartoum Will Return to Life

Port Sudan hosted the preparatory conference of the Democratic Bloc, where its leader Jaafar Al-Mirghani declared that Sudan “will not die,” expressing confidence that Khartoum will return to life.

He pointed to signs of recovery, including students returning to examinations and increased political and diplomatic activity in recent months.

Al-Mirghani welcomed all Sudanese currently in the city, stating that recent developments—including visits by President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, Kamil Idris’ peace initiative, and the outcomes of the Berlin Conference—are contributing to efforts to resolve the crisis and restore stability.

He called for national unity, noting that the bloc comprises “historic parties” whose diversity is a source of strength, while acknowledging the need to further develop political work and strengthen state institutions.
