Heavy explosions rock El Daein amid drone strikes

Violent explosions shook El Daein, the capital of East Darfur, following a series of drone strikes carried out by the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) targeting positions and gatherings belonging to the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia, according to local sources and eyewitnesses.

Witnesses cited by Darfur 24 said powerful blasts were heard in western neighbourhoods and near the city’s main market, triggering fires and thick plumes of smoke.

Sources indicated that the strikes hit key RSF sites, including an area near one of its headquarters, where fires were seen immediately after the attack.

In a related development, an entity described as the RSF-affiliated “executive administration” of the health ministry reported casualties resulting from the escalation.
