Heavy Army Airstrikes and Artillery Shelling Target Militia West of El-Obeid

The Air Force launched a series of concentrated airstrikes on Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia positions in the town of Om Semaima, North Kordofan State.

The attacks extended to other militia gatherings west of Abu-Ga’aud village, about 50 kilometers from El-Obeid, the state capital.

The airstrikes followed observations of what were described as active RSF militia movements in the areas and villages surrounding El-Obeid on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. These movements were likely aimed at repositioning and expanding into strategic areas close to the city.

Through these movements, the militia seeks to limit the Sudanese army’s expansion towards Bara Locality, east of El-Obeid, which has been under its control for months, amid escalating military operations by the armed forces.

In addition to airstrikes, the Sudanese army has used heavy artillery extensively against the militia west of Abu Ga’aud village, in simultaneous operations aimed at striking supply, command, and deployment centers, according to field sources who spoke to Ultra Sudan.

The sources confirmed that the army was using a dual tactic, combining aerial and artillery strikes, to confuse the militia and prevent them from reorganizing their forces around El-Obeid.
