Heavy Airstrikes Target RSF Militia and SPLM-N Artillery South of Dilling

The Sudanese Army on Saturday carried out airstrikes against positions of the rebel Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia and the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North (SPLM-N) in Dilling, South Kordofan State.

A military source told Ultra Sudan that warplanes targeted positions and artillery belonging to the militia and the SPLM-N south of the city, which were being used to shell residential areas. The source added that the strikes inflicted heavy losses on SPLM-N forces.

The Sudan Doctors Network had earlier announced that five civilians, including a child, were killed and others wounded in artillery shelling that targeted neighborhoods south and west of Dilling.

In a statement, the network held the SPLM-N responsible for the shelling, considering the targeting of civilians and civilian facilities a violation of international humanitarian law.

Repeated artillery and airstrikes on cities in South Kordofan have killed dozens of civilians and displaced thousands of families, amid a severe deterioration in health and food services.
