Hamdok’s coalition rejects militia government
The Civil Democratic Alliance (Sumoud) announced its position rejecting the proposal to form a parallel government to the existing government. The Secretariat-General of the (Sumoud) Alliance warned, in a statement on Monday, against underestimating the consequences of signing the (founding) charter for components supporting the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia.
Sumoud indicated that it has repeatedly stressed that the duty that comes before anything else is to stop the war, because its continuation means the prolongation and intensification of the humanitarian catastrophe on the people, and also means creating a favorable environment to push the country to the abyss of division.
The alliance announced that it will continue its communication with the civil democratic forces and with the regional and international community, in order to initiate a single peace process with multiple simultaneous and integrated tracks, to reach a ceasefire agreement. The alliance renewed its position rejecting the proposal to form the government as one of the approved means of action because it believes that it will increase the complexity of the crisis in the country and will not constitute a legitimate solution.
