Government: Drone Strike Targets Khartoum Airport Without Losses; Flights to Resume Soon

The Press Office of the Ministry of Culture, Information, Antiquities and Tourism announced that flight operations at Khartoum International Airport will resume normally once ongoing technical and security procedures are completed.

In a statement, the office said a site in the airport premises was targeted by a drone, with no casualties or damage to property reported.

It added that the relevant security and military authorities responded immediately to the incident and initiated the required technical and security measures in line with approved protocols, while continuing assessment operations to ensure the highest levels of safety.

The statement affirmed that the situation is under control, with continued coordination among the competent authorities to ensure stability and the safety of facilities.

The office urged citizens and media outlets to verify information through official sources and avoid circulating rumors or unverified reports.

The incident comes amid an escalation in drone attacks. A military source told Ultra Sudan that a militia drone targeted Khartoum International Airport on Monday, along with several sites in Khartoum and Omdurman. The source added that a strategic drone, identified as the “Akinci” model, carried out strikes on multiple locations, including the airport, the Police House, and Al-Markhiyat camp in Omdurman.
