Four people passaway of hunger in West Omdurman
Four people died of hunger on Wednesday in Dar Al-Salam area west of Omdurman city, due to a severe shortage of food and medicine.
The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia have controlled Dar Al-Salam administrative unit affiliated with Ombada Locality since the first days of the war, and the area suffers from a scarcity of food after most of its markets were looted and destroyed.
A spokesman for Dar Al-Salam Emergency Chamber told Sudan Tribune that “the Chamber recorded four deaths due to hunger in the Al-Gamayir area, Block 24.”
He revealed that the kitchens that provide free food have stopped for about a week due to the lack of financial support, which has exacerbated the humanitarian situation and increased the suffering of citizens.
The spokesman indicated that cases of severe malnutrition among children increased during the current November to about 100 cases, in addition to more than 23 cases among the elderly, and 37 cases among pregnant and lactating women.
