Following disputes with Hemeidti… Abdel-Rahim Dagalo reshuffles his personal security team

Reports from Nyala, South Darfur, indicate that the rebel militia commander, Abdel-Rahim Dagalo, has made a sudden change to his personal security team, dismissing several guards from the Rizeigat tribe and replacing them with new members from the Fellata tribe.

Sharp and covert disagreements erupted between militia commander Hemeidti and his brother Abdel-Rahim after the latter rejected appointments made by the militia government, describing those appointed as opportunists.

Sources said the decision came amid rising distrust within Dagalo’s close circle, alongside escalating tribal tensions within the militia ranks, prompting him to review the personnel around him.

Information also indicated that the replacement process was carried out in complete secrecy under the direct supervision of a close aide to Dagalo, in anticipation of any reaction from the dismissed group, while ensuring the protection of his personal position and the loyalty of the new guards.
