Fierce battles around Republican Palace, RSF militia intends to destroy Soba Bridge

Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and its supporting forces launched a new attack on Saturday against the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia to seize the Soba Bridge east of the capital, Khartoum, from its grip, while explosions were heard in the morning as a result of artillery shelling SAF carried out towards Khartoum downtown around the Republican Palace and continued for several hours.
The armored army made new progress on Saturday evening with its forces reaching the (Jackson) station, which is the largest public transportation station in Khartoum downtown on Saturday, which is a remarkable development in the context of the battle in the center of the capital.
In the East Nile zone, the Sudan Shield Forces said, in a press release on Saturday, that the armed forces and the Sudan Shield Forces are fighting fierce battles around the Soba Bridge and the eastern Soba neighborhoods. The release revealed that the pressure from the Sudan Shield Forces and the Elite Forces caused the militia to retreat to Al-Siniyah (roundabout) and the bridge body, with the partial closure of the paths inside it through concrete barriers and military police to prevent any withdrawal of militia elements.
The Sudan Shield Forces confirmed that the battles are ongoing, and the release feared that the militia would target the bridge body if it withdrew from it to secure its forces.
