Field Commander Defects, Leads Covert Operations Against Militia Leaders in Kordofan
A field commander of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia, Mohammed Ali Younis, has surrendered along with nine combat vehicles to Sudanese forces on the Export Road.
In a Facebook post, Special Forces commander Mohammed Didan said Younis had announced his surrender since last Ramadan and had since been cooperating with Special Forces operations.
He said the defected commander participated in covert operations in Al-Mazlqanat and Jabrat Al-Sheikh, and contributed to the attack on the so-called Jireijikh meeting, which resulted in the killing of a number of militia field commanders.
