Egypt: Sudan’s dismantle (a red line)

Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel Aati said that his country’s position on the situation in Sudan is clear and is represented in supporting its unity and stability and extending the state’s sovereignty over all its territories.
Abdel Aati added, in a joint press conference with the European Union Commissioner for Mediterranean Affairs Dubravka Šuica, in Cairo on Sunday “This is a constant in Egyptian foreign policy and we cannot budge from it.” He stressed that forming any parallel frameworks that may lead to the disintegration of the Sudanese state is a red line for Egypt, and is completely unacceptable, pointing out Egypt’s support for legitimacy and state institutions, not specific individuals. “We communicate with all concerned parties to convey our point of view and our clear and firm position, and we are with Sudan, as a state and institutions, imposing its sovereignty and institutions over all its territories.” He continued.
