Dozens of RSF Field Commanders Seek to Surrender

A senior military source has revealed a significant strategic shift in the progress of military operations, with dozens of field commanders from the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia expressing their desire to withdraw from its ranks and surrender to the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF), amid strict intelligence procedures to assess these requests according to specific criteria.

The source told the Shahed Ayan platform on Saturday that acceptance of surrender requests is not carried out randomly, but rather is subject to thorough reviews and precise conditions set by the relevant intelligence authorities.

The main criteria include the size of the military force commanded by the field officer, its operational weight and influence on the ground, as well as the number and scale of military vehicles and equipment that would be handed over with the force.

Military reports indicated that a large number of these commanders, along with their armed groups, are currently stationed in waiting areas pending approval from the competent authorities to complete their relocation and official surrender procedures.

The senior source stressed that this step forms part of an ongoing process to dismantle the militia’s organizational and military structure, which is being carried out continuously and systematically in accordance with security plans set by the army leadership.
