Dozens of miners arrested after bombing of Hemeidti gold mines
The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia continued its arrest campaigns among traditional miners in the gold mines in South Darfur, while the internet ban continued for the second week. Two weeks ago, warplanes destroyed the gold mines belonging to the militia commander in Songo.
A local leader told (Darfur 24) that the militia arrested dozens of miners from the mines on charges of collaborating and communicating with the Sudanese army and they were deported to Nyala.
The militia continued to ban the internet (Starlink) in all mining areas in addition to tightening security measures, which harms the miners according to a source, as they travel a distance of 120 kilometers to communicate with their families.
