Abdul-Hamid Hassan is a creative Director, designer and a good follower of events and news. He produced daily (infographics) that decorated the pages of (Sudanese Echoes) and distinguished it from other platforms.
The latest issue he addressed was the terrifying cholera disaster, as statistics monitored by Abdal-Hamid regarding cholera showed that it exceeded normal rates, amounting to 9,000 infections and 315 deaths. The epidemic spread to 8 states.
The major disaster is that 80% of health facilities in war zones have ceased, certainly due to the encroachment of militia criminals who do not hesitate to attack and plunder them.
The Ministry of Health is making an effort according to its capabilities in vaccination, targeting 334,548 persons in Kassala state, and is endeavoring to reach areas where the epidemic is spreading.
The disaster is that autumn augments the spread of epidemic diseases with the spread of flies that transmit diseases such as cholera and typhoid. That is accompaning by the spread of stagnant water that breeds flies and mosquitoes, which transmits malaria and dengue fever. The problem is that with the complexities of war, it is difficult to combat these diseases and their vectors, particularly with the shutdown of health institutions, the scarcity of medicine and medical supplies.
The Question: Isn’t this a humanitarian disaster? What did the United Nations do while talking about humanitarian aid? All that happened was that the UN Humanitarian Affairs Officer expressed his concern about the spread of cholera in Sudan, and this is what the United Nations is good at:
Expressing concern.
