Desert Swallows 500 Militia Fighters

Local sources said that Sudan’s Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia suffered a major setback in the North Kordofan desert after losing contact with more than 500 of its fighters, who became lost in the desert under harsh operational and environmental conditions.

The sources told the Shahid Ayan platform that the incident triggered widespread anger and resentment among the families and tribes of the missing fighters, particularly in Ed-Daein, Nyala, Al-Mujlad, and Abu Zabad. The families demanded that the militia leadership disclose the full truth about the fate of their relatives.

In a related development, community leaders and members of the Misseriya and Mahamid tribes accused the Dagalo family of sacrificing their sons by sending them into ill-planned battles and deadly situations, describing the force’s loss in the desert and exposure to death as a catastrophic failure and a grave mismanagement of field military operations.

According to the same sources, reconnaissance and intelligence circles within the RSF described the incident in internal reports as one of the most serious human and organizational setbacks the force has suffered since the battles of Al-Gezira and Khartoum.
