Campaign to Purge Sudan of Fake Companies
The Acting Undersecretary and Minister of Justice, Howaida Ali Awad Al-Karim, has directed the Commercial Registrar to revise the commercial data register and delete any companies that have not legalized their status or have not actually commenced their activities. This is in implementation of Article (255) of the Companies Law of 2015, Amendment 2025.
The directive issued by the Acting Undersecretary and Minister of Justice is based on Article (255) of the Companies Law of 2015, Amendment 2025, which allows the Commercial Registrar the power to delete companies that have not commenced their activities or have not legalized their status in accordance with the requirements of the law.
The Ministry of Justice indicated that this step aims to tighten oversight of companies that do not comply with the provisions of the law, thus contributing to purging the commercial register of fake or ineffective entities.
Through this measure, the Ministry of Justice seeks to enhance the business environment and ensure that all companies operating in the country are legal companies operating within official frameworks.
The Ministry confirmed that the companies targeted by this step are those that have been registered but have not engaged in any actual activity or have not completed the legal procedures for regularizing their status.
The Ministry of Justice called on companies that have not commenced their activities or have not completed the legal procedures to take immediate action to rectify their legal status before they are removed from the commercial register.
