Alliance Within Militia Seeks to Oust Al-Dagalo from Leadership
Press reports have revealed intensive efforts by prominent political and military figures within the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia to restructure the group’s leadership and end the Dagalo family’s control over its command structure.
The Brown Land newspaper, citing informed sources, reported that an alliance comprising Mohamed Hassan Al-Taishi, Nimer Mohamed Abdel Rahman, Al-Tahir Hajar, Al-Hadi Idris, and Abdelaziz Al-Hilu is leading a strategic plan to bring about a fundamental change in the leadership hierarchy. The initiative aims to end the Dagalo family’s monopoly over key positions and military decision-making within the force.
According to the sources, the move has been driven by growing discontent within the RSF, with the group arguing that the concentration of senior political and military positions in the hands of the Mahariya clan has resulted in the widespread marginalization and exclusion of other tribal components.
The sources added that increasing accusations of disloyalty against those groups have prompted the alliance to coordinate efforts to end the family’s dominance and broaden participation in decision-making.
