(Al -Helou) creates a special unit to monitor RSF officers’ movements in South Kordofan

The Head of the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North (SPLM-N), Abdulaziz Adam Al -Helou, issued directives to form a special security information unit directly affiliated with him, with the aim of following up the movements of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia officers in the SPLM-N control areas in South Kordofan state.

Sources indicated that Al-Hilu directed Colonel Al -Bagir Hamdan, who is currently in Nairobi, to return immediately to take over the supervision of this task.

The same sources confirmed that this unit was created outside the traditional structure of the SPLM-N’s military intelligence service, and is directly subject to the supervision of the SPLM-N’s head.

Observers believe that this step reflects a state of apprehension and lack of confidence within the SPLM-N towards RSF elements, and may indicate unannounced differences between the two parties in light of the complex field conditions that the region is going through.
