Al-Burhan Receives His Reports: Auditor General Completes Auditing of 398 Government Units and 18 Banks

 

President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), General Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan, met today, Monday, with Sudan’s Auditor General, Salah El-Din Mohamed Osman.

 

 

The meeting discussed ways to overcome challenges facing the work and duties of the National Audit Chamber and addressed issues related to financial auditing to enhance the Chamber’s performance, accuracy, and independence.

 

 

In a press statement, the Auditor General said he briefed TSC President on the Chamber’s performance and the financial reports of various state institutions, including the financial report of government units for the year 2024.

 

He noted that the Chamber had completed auditing the accounts of 398 government units and 18 banks, in addition to companies and government entities in the secure states.

 

 

Salah El-Din pointed out that the state’s financial performance has significantly improved in terms of revenues, despite the difficult circumstances the country is going through. He added that the Chamber had also reviewed the accounts of several Sudanese embassies abroad, expressing his full satisfaction with the Chamber’s performance despite the challenges facing the country.

 

 

The Auditor General said he briefed TSC President on the outcomes of his participation in the 25th International Congress of the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI 25), held in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt. He added that President Al-Burhan pledged to form a matrix to implement the recommendations of the National Audit Chamber to enhance and improve performance, affirming that the Chamber enjoys full independence.
