After killing of thousands of its members, the militia resorts to forced recruitment

Citizens and leaders of native administrations complained about forced recruitment operations carried out by militia forces against dozens of young people in different areas of Darfur. The militia lost thousands of its members in battles with the Sudanese army.

 

Media activist Adam Musa told (Sudan Tribune) that the militia is carrying out intensive campaigns to detain young people from their gathering places in viewing clubs, internet cafes, and markets, and then they are transferred to its camps for the purpose of recruitment.

 

For their part, native leaderships in the town of (Shingli Tobay) said that the militia arrested 40 displaced people from (Shaddad) camp and took them to its camps in Neyala for the purpose of recruiting them into its ranks.
They indicated that among those forcibly recruited were high secondary school students, who were planning to reach Libya or northern Sudan in order to sit for the Sudanese certificate exams.
