African Sorcerer Killed in Nyala as “Amulet Myth” Collapses Under Army Strikes

A field source confirmed to the Shahed Ayan platform on Sunday the killing of an African national sorcerer in Nyala, South Darfur State, who was responsible for preparing amulets and magical charms for members of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia, dealing a major blow to the claims and superstitions promoted by the militia to protect its fighters.

The sorcerer’s death coincided with a broad collapse among militia elements on the battlefield following precise military strikes carried out by the Sudanese Army, which resulted in the destruction of more than eight complete combat groups and the capture of hundreds of other fighters across various fronts.

The sources stated that large quantities of “hijab” (protective charms) and amulets were found scattered among the bodies of dead and wounded militia fighters in areas of North Kordofan. The militia’s media platforms had promoted these objects as capable of stopping bullets and protecting their holders from death.

The sources added that the neutralization of the sorcerer in Nyala and the discovery of these amulets among the dead and captured fighters exposed the falsehood of the beliefs and myths that the militia attempted to use to raise the morale of its fighters, which collapsed in the face of the coordinated military strikes carried out by the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Joint Force.
