Al-Burhan’s Adviser to Massad Boulos: We Welcome Any Positive ‎Peace Proposal Without Preconditions

Amjad Farid, adviser to the ‎President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), has affirmed ‎that the Sudanese government will engage with any positive and ‎realistic proposal aimed at achieving peace, stressing that there are no ‎preconditions for efforts to reach a settlement, while emphasizing the ‎need to take facts and realities on the ground into account.‎

In comments to Al-Muhaqqiq news outlet, Farid was responding to ‎remarks by Massad Boulos, the U.S. President’s Senior Adviser for Arab ‎and African Affairs, regarding the international Quad’s efforts to reach ‎a settlement to the Sudanese crisis.‎

Farid said that the realities and facts on the ground must be taken into ‎consideration in any peace initiative. He added that the government’s ‎guiding priority is to protect Sudanese citizens from the oppression, ‎abuses, and crimes of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia, while ‎preserving Sudan’s unity and sovereignty.‎
