RSF Drones Attack Gold Miners in South Kordofan

South Kordofan (Sudanese Echoes) – Drones operated by the Rapid ‎Support Forces (RSF) militia attacked an artisanal gold-mining site in ‎South Kordofan State, causing material damage to the targeted ‎facilities. This was the second attack on the mine in less than a week. ‎The site is known for its abundant gold production and is worked by a ‎large number of traditional miners.‎

In a statement issued on Saturday, the Sudanese Mineral Resources ‎Company (SMRC) said that the Bajoun Mine Market in South Kordofan ‎State had come under a drone attack by the RSF militia on Friday. The ‎attack targeted four water-mill complexes, causing extensive material ‎damage, according to preliminary information.‎

The company’s Safety Director, Mohamed Abdal-Rahim, disclosed that ‎preliminary reports indicated no deaths or injuries. He explained that ‎the attack coincided with the Friday holiday, when workers were ‎absent from the targeted sites.‎

Abdal-Rahim added that the company was monitoring the aftermath ‎of the incident in coordination with the relevant authorities to assess ‎the extent of the damage and determine the losses.‎
