Senior Emirati Officer Killed in Sudanese Army Airstrike in Nyala
Nyala (Sudanese Echoes) – A United Arab Emirates (UAE) medical evacuation aircraft arrived at Nyala Airport to evacuate 13 people, including wounded individuals and the bodies of those killed, among them Emiratis and members of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia. The urgent evacuation followed a series of precision airstrikes carried out by the Sudanese Air Force against the militia’s operational command headquarters and drone systems in South Darfur State.
Reliable sources told Sudanese Echoes that the aircraft’s primary mission was to transport 13 wounded people and the bodies of those killed in the airstrikes, confirming that Emiratis were among those being evacuated.
Meanwhile, the spokesperson for the private initiative, Mohamed Didan, disclosed that 10 foreign personnel were killed in the Sudanese Air Force attack on the militia’s positions and fortifications in Nyala. He confirmed that a senior Emirati officer was among those killed. He also said that a complete stockpile of Serbian-made strategic drone missiles, which had arrived five days earlier, was destroyed. In addition, a gathering point for the militia’s special forces near Nyala Locality was struck.
The Sudanese Armed Forces’ warplanes had carried out a series of concentrated airstrikes against strategic military sites belonging to the RSF in Nyala. Reports indicated that the strikes directly hit critical facilities, including military operational command headquarters, drone control and guidance centres, and major weapons and ammunition depots.
The attacks inflicted heavy human and material losses on the militia and destroyed large sections of the military infrastructure at the targeted sites.
