Intensive Engagement by Al-Burhan’s Adviser on Capitol Hill

Washington, (Sudanese Echoes) – Political Adviser to the President of ‎the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), Amjad Farid Al-Tayeb, held ‎discussions in Washington with the office of Senator Steve Daines and ‎staff members of the U.S. House Foreign Affairs Committee on ‎developments in the Sudanese crisis.‎

Al-Tayeb questioned the viability of any truce that does not include ‎the withdrawal of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia from civilian ‎areas, an end to external supplies to the militia, and the establishment ‎of UN monitoring over it.‎

He also urged Washington to exert serious pressure to halt regional ‎support for the militia and to formulate its policy based on ‎documented facts, away from disinformation campaigns.‎
