Hundreds of RSF Recruits Flee Nyala Before Deployment to Kordofan Fronts

Eyewitnesses in the city of Nyala reported a mass flight involving hundreds of recruits in the ranks of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia, just hours before orders were issued for their deployment to the active fighting fronts in Kordofan Region.

According to field reports based on an eyewitness account, the militia’s field commander, Saleh Al-Fouti, had completed the logistical and military preparations to deploy the force. He had assembled between 350 and 400 fighters and equipped them with combat vehicles, weapons, and the necessary supplies, while also paying them financial incentives in preparation for their departure at dawn.

However, the militia leadership was surprised at the scheduled departure time to find that the fighters had disappeared en masse from the assembly point. The vehicles and military equipment were found intact, with none of the recruited fighters present. They had fled to unknown destinations.

In the same context, local activists circulated angry comments from relatives and families of the fleeing recruits addressed to the militia leadership under the hashtag: “You killed our sons; leave us what remains.” The comments reflected widespread and growing public rejection of forced recruitment and the deployment of young people into the war.
