Shocking Video Shows Militia Member Boasting of Buying Infant as a Commodity and Threatening to Slaughter Him

A horrific and documented video widely circulated on Sudanese social media platforms has sparked widespread anger and shock after showing what was described as an unprecedented degradation in human conduct and violations against children by members of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia.

The shocking video shows one of the militia members holding an infant who is completely unaware of the world around him, while shamelessly boasting in front of his companions and the camera that he had “bought the infant as a commodity” for a small sum of money—1,000 Sudanese pounds.

In a scene described as deeply disturbing to human conscience, the militia member threatens to kill and slaughter the innocent child, while appearing to enjoy the infant’s hysterical screams and bouts of crying that shocked viewers.

The sadistic video triggered strong reactions and widespread calls from human rights organizations for the international community to take serious action to put an end to crimes involving the exploitation and abuse of children. They said that treating human lives and infants as spoils and commodities to be bought and sold constitutes a full-fledged war crime and a blatant violation of human dignity requiring immediate accountability, as well as the designation of these groups as terrorist organizations.
